Beirut, April 15, 2026: Further to the emergency plan activated by touch in coordination with the Ministry of Telecommunications, the company announces the intensification of field and technical work in collaboration with its key partners. This phase aims to solidify network performance across most of Lebanon through exceptional measures designed to adapt to the current geographical situation. These measures focus on enhancing network efficiency in secure areas to accommodate increased usage, while ensuring service continuity and site maintenance in the most vulnerable areas.
These measures also come further to a significant increase in average daily data usage, reaching approximately 700 terabytes, a 25% increase compared to the period before the outbreak of the war. In this context, the operations currently managed by touch's technical teams, in collaboration with its partners, are focused on two integrated axes:
The first axis pertains to optimizing network performance and 4G service, especially since touch's approach is based on adopting a sustainable plan to address network congestion in safe areas for displaced persons. These efforts include upgrading the third and fourth carriers to increase network capacity, and the operator has completed more than a thousand related upgrades. The company is also working on establishing a long-term strategy aimed at building a congestion-free transmission network, transforming current temporary solutions into a sustainable infrastructure capable of accommodating any future growth in data traffic.
The second axis encompasses all field operational and logistical activities related to maintaining the readiness of sites and stations in various safe and at-risk areas. In this case, any operation is carried out in full coordination with the Lebanese Army and its approval.
